Ballet
Ballet is a dance forms that was introduced during the Italian Renaissance in the fifteenth century, which further grew into a dance form in France and Russia. It is taught and carried out by trained ballet dancers.
Classical ballet
The Classical ballet Dance form is based on historic and classical ballet style, methods and language. various styles have come out in different countries, such as French ballet, Italian ballet, English ballet, and Russian ballet. Several of the classical ballet styles are combined and correlated with distinct and precise training methods. Usually named after their creators. Some examples of classical ballet productions are: Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty and The Nutcracker.
Romantic ballet
The Romantic era was marked by the growth and development of point work. Dominance of female dancers, and longer, flowy tutus that attempt to exemplify softness and a delicate aura. The plots of many romantic ballets circled about spirit women (ghosts) who enslaved the hearts and senses of mortal men.
Neo classical ballet
Neoclassical ballet is unreal and conceptual, and has no clear plot, attire or surroundings. Music choice can be varied and distinct and often includes music that is also neoclassical.
Contemporary ballet
This ballet style is often performed barefoot. Contemporary ballets consist of imitation and acting, is usually set to music. Can also be arduous to comprehend it from from neoclassical or modern ballet. Anyone prepared and disciplined as a ballet dancer is expected to perform neoclassical, modern and contemporary work.
Salsa
Salsa is a Latin dance forms identified with the music genre of the same name which originated in the 1960s in New York City. This dance forms is a combination of Cuban dances that were popular in the ballrooms and nightclubs of Havana. By the end of the 1950s, as well as American jazz dances.
The Afro Latina style has a bit of twist added to it. The thing that distinguishes it and gives it its own identity is that some of the songs are in African language with African instruments that gives the songs different rhythms.
The Columbian or Cali style
Is based on the geographical location of the Colombian City of Cali. Cali, known as “Capital de la Salsa”.
The components the Style were greatly affected by dances to Caribbean rhythms which predated salsa, such as Pachanga and Boogaloo.
Cuban style or casino
Casino was marketed as Cuban-style salsa or Salsa Cubana abroad to distinguish it from other salsa styles when the name was popularized in the 1970s. However, not its mechanical technique, but the considerate and instinctive use of the rich Afro-Cuban dance vocabulary within a “Casino” dance is what is important. There are more styles like the Miami style casino, and a major difference of Cali Style and Miami-style is that the latest is paeticularly danced on the downbeat and has components of show-style added to it. There are more styles like the Rueda de casino, Los Angeles style and the New York style.
Hip hop
Hip-hop dance forms refers to street dance styles initially performed to hip-hop music or that have developed as part of hip-hop culture. Involving great styles primarily, breaking which was created in the 1970s.
The commercialization of hip-hop dance continued into the 1990s and 2000s with the production of several television shows and movies such as The Grind, the step up movie series and many more.
Though the dance is settled in amusement and pleasure, including temperate depiction in theater, it maintains a strong existence in downtown neighborhoods which has led to the creation of street dance descendants Memphis jookin, turfing, jerkin’, and krump.
What distinguishes hip-hop from other forms of dance is that it is often “freestyle” in nature and hip-hop dance teams often engage in freestyle dance competitions known as battles. The main styles of hip are locking, breaking and popping.
